Why You’re Not Broken — You’re Blocked
If you’ve ever struggled to lose weight despite your best intentions — if you’ve eaten “clean,” counted calories, followed plans, and still felt stuck — it’s not because you’re doing something wrong.
It’s because your body and mind are working from two very different scripts.
Your conscious mind says, “I want to lose weight.”
But your subconscious quietly whispers, “It’s not safe,” or “It’s too hard,” or “I’ve failed before, so why bother?”
That’s what I call weight loss resistance — and it’s not just physical. It’s emotional. It’s energetic.
Finding peace within yourself is one of the most powerful and overlooked keys to lasting weight loss.
And in my 20+ years of experience, EFT Tapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is the most profound tool I’ve found to help clients achieve it.
The Real Disruptor of Peace with Food and the Body
What disrupts peace with food and with our bodies is usually unconscious.
We set goals from our logical mind… but the subconscious, shaped by years of emotion and belief, has its own agenda.
It’s like having one foot on the gas and the other on the brake.
You say you want to move forward — but hidden fears, old experiences, or protective beliefs keep you in place.
The goal isn’t to “push harder.”
It’s to take your foot off the brake.
Step One:
Discover Your Hidden Blocks
Start by writing your exact weight loss goal — clearly and specifically:
- How much weight do you want to release?
- How do you want to feel in your body when that happens?
- What will your life look like when you get there?
Then listen closely to the voice that follows — the “Yeah, but…” voice.
Common examples include:
- “Yeah, but I’ve never been able to keep it off.”
- “Yeah, but I’ll feel deprived.”
- “Yeah, but I don’t have time or energy.”
- “Yeah, but it’s going to be so hard.”
- “Yeah, but I’ll stand out too much if I succeed.”
These “yeah buts” are gold. They reveal the exact unconscious resistance that’s been keeping your body from letting go.
Rate each belief from 1–10, with 10 being the most intense.
These are your starting points for tapping.
Step Two:
Release the Resistance with EFT Tapping
Tapping helps calm your nervous system, rebalance hormones like cortisol, and rewire stress patterns that drive emotional eating and weight retention.
A study published in the Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease found that EFT can lower cortisol levels by up to 43% in just one hour.
When cortisol drops, the body shifts from survival into healing — improving digestion, metabolism, and fat-burning efficiency.
🌿 Tapping Script: “It Feels Too Hard”
Gently tap on each point as you speak the following phrases aloud.
| Tapping Point | Affirmation / Statement |
|---|---|
| Side of Hand | Even though I feel overwhelmed and tired, and I can’t imagine adding one more thing to my plate, I deeply and completely accept myself. |
| Even though part of me believes losing weight will take too much work, I’m open to finding an easier way. | |
| Eyebrow | I already have so much to do. |
| Side of Eye | I’m tired before I even start. |
| Under Eye | It’s all felt so hard for so long. |
| Under Nose | I don’t have the energy to do more. |
| Chin | But what if it doesn’t have to be so hard? |
| Collarbone | What if this time could actually feel lighter? |
| Under Arm | What if letting go could be easier than holding on? |
| Top of Head | I’m open to the possibility that peace creates progress. |
Take a deep breath.
Notice any small shift — a sigh, a yawn, a sense of ease. These are signs your nervous system is resetting.
Repeat until the intensity of your belief lessens.
From Resistance to Release
Once you start releasing subconscious stress and emotional blocks, something beautiful happens —
your body begins to cooperate.
You feel calmer around food.
You make nourishing choices naturally, without force.
You move your body because it feels good, not because you “should.”
This is where true, effortless weight loss begins — not in restriction, but in release.
Every time you tap, forgive yourself, or soften an old belief, you’re not just changing your thoughts — you’re literally lowering stress hormones and creating the biochemical conditions for healing and balance.
The Truth
Peace with food and your body isn’t a reward you earn after losing weight.
It’s the path that leads you there.
When you find inner peace, you stop chasing change — and start allowing it.
And when you stop fighting your body, your body finally stops fighting you.
